Related workĮxisting approaches to analyze and model aerodynamic effects, including wind effects, on multirotor aircraft can be roughly classified into the following four categories:įirst-principle-based methods: The blade element theory and the momentum theory are widely used to derive the forces and the moments generated at the rotor plane of a multirotor airplane (Martin and Salaun 2010 Bristeau et al. Therefore, the effects of wind on multirotor UAVs need to be formally investigated and modeled, which is the objective of this paper. A strong wind may cause dramatic changes in the forces and moments acting on a multirotor UAV, which, if not taken care of properly, can significantly degrade the overall UAV flight performance. When flying in outdoor environments, such multirotor airplanes may be subject to the influences of various environmental disturbances, particularly winds. They have been widely used in many outdoor applications, such as the aerial photography, infrastructure inspection, agriculture monitoring, transportation, public safety, and delivery services (Valavanis and Vachtsevanos 2015 Iost Filho et al. (You're welcome.Multirotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are becoming increasingly popular over the past few years due to their high maneuverability and vertical takeoff and landing capability.
It will work as long as it works and if/when it stops working that will be that.īut it's free for everybody. We released it as is and we are never touching it again. Nevertheless, it is available and if you aren't too picky it can be a good way to get certain models that aren't available in a newer, higher-quality form (or just to indulge in a bit of nostalgia for those who have been with us since those earlier days).
We decided to repackage the content and make it available for everybody as a free download.ĭid I mention that content is ancient? It really shows its age. They worked with G3, but there was nothing we could do beyond that to keep those original disks working with later versions of RealFlight (G4+). They were all released ~20 years ago for RealFlight Classic/Deluxe and RealFlight G2.
That content is available as a free download through the following links: The aircraft and airports from the Add-Ons Volume disks were re-developed for compatibility with RealFlight G4.x, G5.x, 6.x, 7.x., and 8.x. The Add-Ons Volume 1-5 disks (emphasis added) are not compatible for use with RealFlight G4.x, G5.x, 6.x, 7.x., 8.x or 9.x. I am grateful that Blade keeps the heli's coming out, we know the market is not where it was 5 years ago when I got back in the hobby after decades away. which needsa few to remain only a few because after flying FBL you need some sim time with the difference characteristics of FB helis, but 1/3rd of the offering and only 1 model of the other leading brand of helis? that area has little improvement, a few (3) Blade helis are new. I did not see the Harrier in the list on the website listing the aircraft, my bad.Īs for what I really use the sim for these days. I don't have RF9 (maybe not yet, maybe never as I barely use RF7.5 anymore and when I do, it is mostly for helis). I had a lot of others in the list, then I fired up my RF7.5 and looked in my Custom Aircraft folder and noticed most of them where there, I probably have 1.5 times more aircraft there than came with RF 7. If you're using that method to browse aircraft, be sure to expand the "RealFlight Legacy Aircraft" folder to see more. It is also worth noting that in RF9 we moved some aircraft into a different folder in the MFC aircraft selection dialog. SilverSport, what models do you think have been removed? You mentioned the Harrier, but it is very much present.
